My name is Bret Yourstone, and I am currently a Design student at the University of California, Davis. I am most interested in architectural and exhibition design, especially narrative environments that tell an engaging story. I have also completed outside research with various professors, mainly focused on the relationship between narrative storytelling with dimensional space.

I grew up in Orange County, California, and frequented many museums and theme parks in the Los Angeles area as a kid, especially Disneyland and Huntington Gardens. I have a passion for narrative environments, and am interested in how the physical interaction with the environment can help define the story.

At UC Davis, I have been extremely lucky to have great mentors in the Design Department. I have had the opportunity to work on various architecture and exhibition design projects that have helped define my path and interest in design. I am currently completing an honors thesis with the City of Davis, analyzing how projection mapping on civic buildings is an effective storytelling tool.
